The Story of Zydeco (as told by himself)

Hey there my name is Zydeco and I wanna tell you a little about myself and how I ended up where I am today! I was at the Friendswood Animal Shelter with a really bad injury to my elbow so they set my expiration date to May 3,2010 (personally I didn't know dogs had an expiration date but I guess we all learn something new everyday) They also posted my picture on Facebook which made me into quite the celebrity and Dr. Pickle noticed me and knew that one of her staff members has a soft heart for us big ole goof balls known as Bloodhounds. When the officer came in to pick up some medications for some kittens that were sick the girls here at Alvin-Friendswood Veterinary Clinic grilled him about me. It turned out that expiration doesn't mean I end up smelling like sour milk it means they were gonna EUTHANISE me THAT DAY because no one was intereseted because the surgery to fix my elbow would cost too much! Well, that sent Jenny (My new mommy) and Mel on a rescue misssion at lunch time. The very next day they neutered me and vaccinated me and Dr. Pickle accessed my leg. Two weeks later she tried to fix my leg but it didn't hold very well. For the record when you have a new found freedom and 3 kids to play with it is REALLY hard to hold still like your supposed to! I tried my hardest but the surgery just didn't heal the way Dr. Pickle wanted it to. Dr. Pickle did a lot of research and talked to a few specialist that were willing to do the surgery but the best one for the job and the one with the biggest heart of them all is Dr. Fred Williams in San Antonio and he said he could do the surgery for us as soon as we needed it done! Which happens to be pretty quick! I go in later this August to have it fixed and I will be in a device that looks a lot like the leg device that was on Forest Gumps leg! I really can't wait to be able to really run, jump, play, and roll in the mud like any other old dog! Right now I can do some of those things but only for about 15 minutes before I get really sore and need to take a break and take medicine to stop the pain. I can't wait until I get the pain to stop!
